“As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.”
-Calvin

In 2nd grade I was sitting in art class drawing Bart Simpson and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when the other students started to gather around me to look at my drawings. They commented on how good they were and to my surprise, as I looked at the other students work, I realized that mine were quite better than the other kids. That’s when I learned I was an artist.
I enjoy all mediums from oils to watercolor, pens to pencils. I really enjoy producing ballpoint pen pieces – there is something about the completely unforgiving nature of the medium that appeals to me. No eraser, no cover up. Line being my favorite element of design, the permanent mark of a pen records the expressions of the soul better than any other medium. My award-winning Aut Pax Aut Bellum pen drawing below took me over 160-hours to produce. There’s no under drawing, just pen to paper. Imagine being 150-hours into a drawing realizing one mistake would ruin the work you’d already done!
My favorite art movement is German Expressionism.
I share the samples of my work below in hopes to show the breadth of my style and technique.
